Orthopaedic surgery
Yoshio or “Yosh” for short, grew up in Canberra. He completed medical studies in 2010 at the University of New South Wales in Randwick, Sydney, including being selected to go on 6 month exchange to the University of Oslo, Norway as part of his medical studies. He spent his junior medical years in Sydney and Canberra prior to orthopaedic training.
Dr Hinde was selected to commence the orthopaedic training in 2017 as part of the NSW training network. In Sydney he worked in St Vincent’s, Prince of Wales, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Concord, St George, Sutherland, Norwest Private, Fairfield and Liverpool hospitals. He then completed his orthopaedic trauma training at Liverpool Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospitals, both level 1 trauma centres. Dr Hinde also trained at Sydney Hand Hospital, Macquarie Street to gain further experience in hand and wrist trauma.
After attaining specialist surgical qualifications, Dr Hinde pursued further fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty, both conventional and robotic knee replacement as well as anterior hip replacement with Drs Anthony Leong and Michael Dixon in Sydney and Wollongong. Yoshio worked as a visiting surgeon in Wollongong prior to commencing a fellowship overseas, While in Wollongong he was assisting the public hospital with both elective waitlist and trauma surgery. He travelled to Ottawa, Canada with his young family and completed a fellowship for further experience in arthroplasty surgery of the lower limb. This involved anterior hip and day surgery joint replacement, including complex hip and knee conditions.
Outside of work, winter sports, beaches and travelling are a passion.
